Training
Every day is a school day
And we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Clearly Education take the wellbeing and safety of Children incredibly seriously … in fact it is at the heart of everything we do. For this reason we make it a mandatory requirement for all our staff to complete several key training courses before starting. We also recommend others which we feel are important to ensuring all our staff are safe and ready to work with children.
Prevent Training
Prevent training is essential for people working in education settings, to ensure their knowledge of the steps that can be taken to prevent radicalisation and extremism.
Safeguarding Training
Clearly Education takes the safeguarding of children and adults in a vulnerable position very seriously and always seeks to follow best and most recent practice. For this reason, before you can commence work with us, we must ask for you to complete a safeguarding course.
There are various courses to chose from. Here are some that we would recommend but if you look at others please just make sure they are CPD Accredited.
We recommend the following courses:
NSPCC courses (recommended): – £30.00
Child protection in schools: primary
Introduction to safeguarding and child protection training
HSQE Level 1 course: £15.00+VAT
TES-endorsed course: £29.50 +VAT
Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) Training
We recommend that all education based staff complete a course on FGM.
First Aid
First Aid training is something we strongly recommend for everyone.
We are very lucky to have paired up with an excellent first aid training provider Lime Tree Learning and Development. Lime Tree is run by a former colleague who we know will offer nothing but the best quality training. Debbie can be contacted at hello@limetreelearning.co.uk where she will be happy to offer all Clearly Education staff a discount.
Other great providers of First aid training to look at would be St John’s Ambulance or The Red Cross
Mental Health
Taking time to know the signs and symptoms of different disorders, such as anxiety and depression allows us to catch these conditions quickly. Educating others, by talking, spreading posters, or watching a documentary can help promote awareness.
Having completed the training, ourselves we can recommend the Open Universities Free course as a good introduction to increasing your awareness to child mental Health.
If you are interested in learning more about mindfulness as an adult, then www.mind.org.uk have great links to Introductory courses, taster sessions and groups.
